Eturia tourism agency estimates turnover growth by 40 pct in 2017
The tour-operator Eturia estimates a turnover growth by 40 percent due to high demand of Romanians for extra-European destinations. Eturia registered a growth by 37 percent in the number of passengers year on year for top 10 destinations.
Compared with 2016, there is an increased demand for extra-European destinations. Out of these, USA, Japan, Peru, Tanzania and India registered the highest sales. It has been observed the tourists’ interest in culture, civilization and wildlife that contributed to the holiday’ destination choice.
„We have a sales double for group holidays and honeymoon packages, especially in Maldive. There was an increase by three times in the number of cruises. At the same time we see an increased demand for experiences on the scene: gastronomic tours, train travels, caravan travels, photographic tour, adventure circuit or wellness & SPA. For the next year we prepare special products, such as: motorway tours, Mississippi cruises, adventure experiences in Alaska, cultural and wildlife tours in Papua New Guinea or Uganda,” says Sorin Stoica, co-owner Eturia.
The top destinations preferred by Romanian tourists in 2017 are Maldive, Thailand, USA, Japan, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Tanzania, Singapore and Peru.
„If in 2017 we increased the requests for tours, we expect to consolidate this direction so that it exceeds the sales of beach holidays. We still expect an increase in the number of tourists in USA, Japan, Peru, but we don’t exclude that a high number of them to try in 2018 destinations less chosen by Romanians,” concluded Stoica.
Eturia was set up in 2007 and in 2017 it registered a turnover of EUR 8 million.
